What P0101 means
The MAF sensor measures every gram of air entering the engine, and the fuel injection is calculated from its reading. P0101 means its signal disagrees with what other sensors imply the airflow should be — the computer suspects its own primary instrument.

Is MAF cleaner really different from other sprays?
Yes — the sensing element is a delicate heated wire or film, and carb or brake cleaner can destroy its coating instantly. MAF-specific cleaner evaporates residue-free and touch-free. It's the one job where the $10 correct can matters.
My aftermarket air filter keeps causing this — coincidence?
Probably not. Over-oiled washable filters shed oil mist onto the MAF element, insulating it and skewing readings — it's the best-documented cause of repeat MAF contamination. Oil the filter sparingly per instructions, or switch back to paper and the repeats usually stop.
